The sounds were awful. My brain was on fire. The internet instantly felt like home. It made the world feel huge and close at the same time.
By 1997 I was skipping after-school plans to stay on AOL all night. My parents thought it was a phase. It was not a phase.
In 2013 I was dealing with workplace bullying and a job that was going nowhere. I started Googling “how to make money online.” That search changed everything.
I taught myself SEO from the ground up. No bootcamp. No degree in marketing. Just obsessive research, real client work, and a lot of trial and error that would have made any agency owner cringe.
